FAQ

Product FAQs

I noticed there are no drainage holes. Have you thought about putting some in?
We do not put in drainage holes because some people want to use our planters indoors as decorative cachepots. If you choose to plant directly into the pot, you should first use a regular household drill with a 1-2″ wood drill bit to allow for drainage in the bottom.

Are your planters indoor/outdoor?
Yes! Because Copperglass Planters are made of fiberglass, they are indoor/outdoor and will not crack under tough winter climates. If you should decide to leave your planter outdoors, be sure to add a drainage hole(s).

Will the copper color chip or scratch?
We use a proprietary process to plate real copper onto the fiberglass mold. Each planter is then coated with a protective finish. Under normal care the copper should not chip or scratch. However, under certain abusive circumstances it can occur. Please use care when moving and handling your planters to maintain their longevity.

Special care should be taken to prevent the copper-plated base of the planter from scratches or chipping. Be sure not to drag the planter across hard, rough surfaces such as cement or rocks.

Should you discover a chip or scratch, make sure not to pick at the affected area, for that may aggravate the problem. Instead, immediately use epoxy or other bonding glue made for use with fiberglass products to repair the chip or scratch.

Will the color fade? Do I need to polish my flowerpot often?
The copper finish will not fade, but as it is real copper, it will continue to patina and change color as it ages.

To restore shine, buff out minor blemishes, or adjust the patina, rub your planter with a stiff rag or light steel wool (#00). The patina may be removed, but will return over time. You can also clean your planter with mild detergent and water, being sure to rinse well.

After buffing or cleaning your planter, you can apply a hard floor wax spray or silicone sealer to slow down patina development.

The planter you delivered to me is different from the picture I saw on your website. The color is lighter/darker than I expected.
Our Copperglass products are completely handcrafted. Due to the nature of production, slight variation in color, size, surface and appearance is to be expected. We try our best to keep the color within a certain range, but no two planters will be exactly the same.

Shipping FAQs

How long will it take to receive my order?
We ship out most orders within 48 hours via FedEx Ground. Larger orders will require the use of FedEx Freight. Ship time is generally 3-5 business days depending on your location.

Can I have an order shipped to my P.O. Box?
No. We ship product to most customers via FedEx, and a valid street address is needed to ensure proper delivery.

Can I ship my order to a different address?
Yes. When you place your order and come to the Checkout screen, just make sure your Billing Information address matches that on your credit card statement. The Mailing Address can be a different address. Remember to use a street address, not a Post Office Box, for any shipping address.

How are shipping charges calculated?
Shipping charges vary according to product type, size and destination. Most Copperglass planters are charged “oversize” rates by FedEx. Your specific shipping charges will be calculated during Checkout, after you have entered your Mailing Address and before you supply us with any credit card information.
